Le beffroi, classé depuis 1896 et inscrit au Patrimoine Mondial de l'UNESCO en 2005, a été aménagé dans une des anciennes portes de la ville qui surplombe la route nationale. Jeanne d'Arc y fut même enfermée avant d'être conduite à Rouen.
