Le couvent franciscain des Frèrs Mineurs, daté du XIIIème siècle, est le plus ancien d'Emilie-Romagne. En son coeur, à l'extérieur de l’église Santa Croce, se dresse l’énorme cyprès, haut d’environ 23 mètres et auquel on attribue l’âge de 700 ans, qui, selon la légende fut planté par saint François. D'autres spécimens marquants valent aussi le détour, comme celui-ci qui trône derière la statue du saint lui-même, près du parking.
The Franciscan Convent of Villa Verucchio is the most ancient in Romagna (XIIIth century). Inside the church is a masterpiece of the 13th century Riminese painting school representing the crucifixion. Outside is a seven hundred years old cypress that, according to the legend, was planted by Francis of Assisi himself. Outside the estate stands the statue of the Saint and another remarkable tree specimen.
